In some respects the end goal has been achieved in terms of this first phase of the project which was to research and write the play and then have the rehearsed reading. Yet it doesn’t feel like an ending, no play ever does, and rather I still feel at the beginning of something. Perhaps this is because ultimately we write plays in order that they be staged and so until that time a play – even once written – is still not a finished piece of work.
